Lending a Hand to Ryerss Farm: A Guide to Making a Difference

Ryerss Farm for Aged Equines is the country’s oldest non-profit organization of its kind, dedicated to providing a comfortable retirement for horses, which faithfully served their former owners or which were rescued from abusive situations. As an organization that relies on the generosity and support of the community, there are numerous ways you can contribute to our farm and beloved equine companions. In this blog post, we will guide you through valuable resources that can empower you to provide meaningful assistance to Ryerss Farm!

Volunteer Your Time and Skills

Volunteering is one of the most direct ways to help at Ryerss. Providing your time and skills can make a significant impact on the farm's day-to-day operations. From helping with the horses to maintaining the facilities to volunteering at our gift shop, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved. Visit our official volunteer page to learn more about the different roles and requirements, whether you’re an experienced horse handler or just starting out in the horse community. There is a place for everyone willing to lend a hand! Please note that a background check is required but waived for volunteers. We are currently in need of friendly greeters and cashiers to work at our gift shop! Experience the fulfillment of making a difference and spend time with our residents each time you visit.

Donation Opportunities

Donations play a crucial role in keeping Ryerss Farm thriving. At Ryerss, we do all we can to keep our costs down. We grow our own grain, hay, and straw on-site! Since no public funds are received, we rely on the generous support of caring individuals and groups. Every donation is gratefully accepted.

Our donation page outlines various ways to contribute, including one-time gifts, monthly sponsorships, and memorial contributions! Funding goes towards food, medical care, maintenance, and the general well-being of the horses.
