At Ryerss Farm, we provide the highest quality care for our resident horses—a task that goes beyond just offering food and shelter. Since many of our horses are elderly, they require additional care, such as routine dental checkups and regular hoof trims to prevent soreness or injury. Just like humans, horses can fall ill or suffer injuries occasionally, which means they need regular veterinary care. On average, it costs about $8,400 annually to care for each of our residents, with some horses requiring specific medications.
How You Can Help
We do our best to manage costs by growing our own grain, hay, and straw right here on the farm to ensure quality. However, Ryerss Farm relies entirely on the generous support of caring individuals and groups, as we receive no public funding.
Supporting us is now easier than ever! Our new donation platform streamlines the process. Simply choose your donation amount, set the frequency, share your reason for giving, and check out. After a few steps, you're done!
Here are some meaningful ways you can make a difference:
Sponsor A Horse
For just $500 a year, you can sponsor one of our residents, covering their essential care and supplies. Visit the farm today from 10 am to 4 pm to choose a horse to sponsor! You can also read about our residents online. Once you have selected a horse, click here to donate online. Alternatively, you can fill out our sponsorship form and send it to us with your payment.
Horse Pedicure ($50) Horses need their hooves trimmed every 6-8 weeks. Treat your favorite horse to a Ryerss pedicure!
Dental Visit ($75) Ryerss horses need a dental visit once a year. Sponsor a dental visit for your favorite horse at Ryerss and give the gift of a healthy smile!
Greener Pasture Plate ($100) Buy a plate for an animal who has "Gone to Greener Pastures."
Memory Board Plate ($100) Purchase a plate for our memory board in honor of someone special.
Memory Plate ($300) Donate a brass plate in memory or honor of a friend or animal.
Stall Endowment ($3,000) Honor a loved one with a brass plaque with their name to be placed on the door of one of the stalls.
